Dalton’s Model Congress Team Excels at Princeton and Yale Model Congress, Wins Best Delegation
This past month, Dalton’s Model Congress team attended both Princeton Model Congress in Washington, D.C. and Yale Model Congress in New Haven, led by team heads Sophie Saxl ‘26, Lauren Nam ‘26, Simon Smith ‘26, and faculty advisor Christine Payne.
At Princeton Model Congress in November, Dalton delegates spent four days debating, legislating, and researching for congressional committees ranging from Foreign Affairs to Judiciary to Government Reform. During free time, students explored the nation’s capital, visiting federal landmarks such as the White House and the Washington Monument. Twenty-five team members received awards, nine of whom were recognized as the ‘Best Delegate’ in their individual committee.
At Yale Model Congress in early December, team members participated in another four days of debate with committee sessions taking place across the Yale campus. Twenty-three students were recognized for their impressive performances, with eight earning the ‘Best Delegate’ award. Notably, the team was awarded the conference’s ‘Best Large Delegation’ award, a commendation for the hard work and success of the team as a whole.
The team looks forward to flying across the country to Harvard Model Congress San Francisco in January!
