7th Grade Spanish Students Prepare Cuban Food in the Teaching Kitchen
7th grade Spanish students visited the Teaching Kitchen to connect their studies of the history and culture of Cuba with a culinary experience.
Students prepared Cuban black beans and rice with the help of Chef Jaz and learned some basic culinary skills while expanding their Spanish knowledge in a new context. They discussed food access in Cuba and also prepared a common Cuban snack — galletas con queso y guayaba (crackers with cheese and guava paste). ¡Delicioso!
