At the Alum Night presentation in the Martin Theater, Head of School Ellen Stein and Alumni Association President Charles Simon ’84 greeted attendees and shared highlights from the year. Athletics Director Teddy Frischling ’89 gave a tribute to Coach Dee Middleton who was retiring after 39 years of teaching and coaching at Dalton.
Dalton’s dance students dazzled the audience with beautiful artistry. Nick Pleshette Murphy ’08 danced a challenging and impressive solo taught to him by Adam Weinert ’03. Pico Alt ’01 provided the violin accompaniment. The lyrical Snow was performed by Lydia Martin ’08, Ivy Menderson ’07 and Rachele Lam ’09. The high-energy African Dance was performed by Renny Blanco ’08, Mara Chinelli ’07, Tolulope Edionwe ’11, Henry Elliman ’10, Tanvir Gopal ’09, Priya Mukhopadhyay ’07, Sam Pratt ’10, Raella Rayside ’10, Charlotte Rosenberg ’10, Jake Samuels ’09, Eric Talbot ’08, Michael Thomas ’08, Sara Vazquez-Irizarry ’10, Amadi Washington ’10, Zuri Washington ’09 with choreography by Jamal Jackson
Alums then gathered with their classmates in groups around the 89th Street building for cocktails and a buffet dinner. Then, many headed off to local watering holes, met again at classmates’ apartments over the weekend, or had picnics in Central Park to continue their festivities.
