Parents and other visitors were recently invited to the 89th Street cafeteria which was transformed into a Medieval Banquet Hall. 50 or so of the most significant (arguably) people from Europe and the Middle East between 800 AD and 1500 AD were invited by Caliph Muhammad XI for a "banquet" held at the Alhambra place in Grenada Spain to discuss history, progress and "convivencia" (living together). The convivencia came to an end in 1492 when King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella expelled all the Muslims and Jews from Spain. Participants debated the pros and cons of this action and were led in their discussions by members of the Dalton faculty (MS and HS) and the Administration.
