A Victorian House of Horrors for Halloween

Lulled upon arrival by a friendly and western-dressed Ellen Stein, accompanied by her "pardners" Jim Best and Lisa Waller, many unsuspecting Dalton middle and high school students stepped into the 89th Street lobby on Halloween morning to witness a chamber of horrors reminiscent of the Victorian era.
The Fine Arts Committee created the elaborate display along with many other students, who braved the weather to collaborate on the project on a stormy Saturday morning. They contributed costume, decoration and spirit in order to create the dark and terrifying scene.

The actors inside of the showcase were part of a Victorian Haunting tableau of found objects developed by Bailey Edwards. After morning arrival, it remained as an installation among the hand-painted walls that included students  paintings of literary tributes including the 12 foot high "headless Horseman" under the full moon, with a jackolantern replacement for his head.

Fine Art Committee members are: (Committee heads) Orli Hakanoglu, Juliette Kessler, Bailey Edwards, Tanvi Agrawal, Zoe Borenstein , Soleil Ball_Van_Zee, Dayna Campbell, Sage Ross, Satchel Lee, Mack Muldofsky, Allison Swaap. They were assisted and supervised by Charles Forster, Carol Bowen and F.A.C. advisor, Lotus Do.
