Over 100 HS Students Take the American Math Competition Exam
On Tuesday, February 7 approximately 100 High School students crowded into the cafeteria at 89th Street to take the American Math Competition exam. That number represents 1/4 of all Dalton High School students.
While Dalton has been long known for producing high-achieving, well-rounded, creative, passionate and articulate students, its burgeoning reputation as a strong math and science school may come as a surprise. In the sciences, Dalton recently came in 4th out of 44 local schools in the Science Olympiad and will move on to the state competition.
The AMC is designed "to spur interest in mathematics and to develop talent through solving challenging problems in a timed multiple-choice format." For more information about AMC, visit http://amc.maa.org/.
