Monica Echeverria, World Wildlife Fund’s Deputy Director of Media Relations, visited House 46 to share a presentation and to accept a donation from the proceeds raised by the Little Dalton Post Office. The WWF is the world’s leading conservation organization, started in 1961. It now does important work in more than 100 countries.
WWF works to save the planet by preserving land and sea habitats, which in turn helps to protect species. For example, the WWF is working to preserve the Mexican forest where the Monarch Butterfly winters. The WWF scientists do research and gather information that will protect environments and endangered animals, like pandas, tigers, sea turtles, gorillas and polar bears. The WWF also teaches people how to manage natural resources and use them wisely. House 46ers were very interested in Monica’s presentation. Before Monica left, House 46 gave her a check representing the Little Dalton Post Office proceeds - $1,276. The Little Dalton Community's support of the post office made a BIG difference - we are helping WWF to protect nature for generations to come.
