The (new this year) 7th and 8th grade debate team went to Hackley to participate in the first Middle School league tournament. Nine students (3 teams of 3) participated in their first-ever tournament.  Dalton took 2nd place.  In addition, Alex Kaplan and Ben Broner won individual speaker awards, and two of our teams (Emma Levine/Max Lehman Ludwig/Julian Freiberg, and, Rachel Covey/Kaira Mediratta/Alison Chen) won individual team awards.  More importantly, everyone had a great time and learned a lot.  The event was a great success and quite a few parents stayed for at least part of the day to support the kids.  Parents and kids alike seemed to really enjoy the experience.
