This year, 3rd grade students asked people to donate a book purchased at the Book Fair to Homes for the Homeless. Homes for the Homeless services 525 families with children at any given time during the year.
Margaret Meghini, a representative from the organization came to speak to our 3rd graders and answer their questions. She informed the students that they have four facilities around New York City. Each of the families receives an apartment and access to meals. Children that live in these housing communities receive daycare, after school support and access to the facility’s library. The books that Dalton students donate will help supply the library with current and popular books.
