Creative Writing Celebration Features Poetry, Prose and Jazz
Creative writing coordinator Chris Hood and his colleague, teacher/acclaimed author Ann Brashares, hosted the second annual Creative Writing Celebration on Tuesday, May 20. The two hour event featured a wonderful student jazz ensemble and the poetry, prose and script writing of several creative writing seniors and their teachers.
This was a record crowd with over 100 in attendance, with a few alums, former editors of Blue Flag, Dalton's creative writing magazine, in attendance. A table of inspiring treats kept the audience and writers well sated, before and throughout the reading. It was a thought provoking and moving occasion. At the end of the reading, the audience received the 2013-14 edition of Blue Flag.
