Poet Mary Ruefle Reads and Reflects with Creative Writing Students
The Creative Writing Program was proud to welcome Mary Ruefle, who met with 25 Advanced Poetry Writing students for a lively ninety minutes of questions and discussion about the process of writing poems, the life of a poet, and the nature of creativity.
She unearthed a childhood notebook just for the occasion, sharing some of her writing and thoughts from her own high school years. That evening, the students walked over to the 92nd St. Y to hear Mary read. The event was a part of an exciting and growing collaboration between the Creative Writing Program and the Y's Unterberg Poetry Center.
