Even though it was snowing on opening day, the Little Dalton Post Office was open for business. The House 46 postmasters worked hard and efficiently to make sure the mail was picked up, sorted, and customers were satisfied.
Each day the mail will be picked up, counted, date stamped and canceled using a "Dalton Mail" stamp. Next, all mail is sorted and placed into mail carrier bags for delivery. H46 manages stamp and envelope sales, too, selling each for 10 cents and creating new supplies as needed. House 46 has decided that all proceeds will benefit the Robin Hood Foundation, which fights poverty in New York City by supporting programs that provide food, shelter and job training. It also supports schools in impoverished neighborhoods. Please support this wonderful community service learning project.
