New York Times columnist Ron Lieber was greeted by a packed house of parents interested in learning how families can build meaningful conversations around money. Sharing advice and insights from his new book, “The Opposite of Spolied,” Ron distilled some of his best approaches to handling everything from allowance, chores, charity and cellphones to the merits of work, forced (if symbolic) deprivation and letting children know how much money their parents make. Attendees left the event with practical tools for raising grounded kids who know how to save, splurge and give in meaningful and thoughtful ways.
