Dalton Hosts FLES (Foreign Language Early Start) Fest
Over 100 world language teachers from 85+ different schools gathered in the Dalton Cafeteria for FLES Fest, on Saturday, April 18. The event included a keynote address by ACTFL Teacher of the Year, Janet Glass, job-alike group chats to share ideas in language-specific and grade-level cohorts, exhibitors with language teaching materials and a lesson/activity swap.
Sponsored by the World and Classical Language Department and NYSAFLT, the New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers, the goal of the event was to give K-8 world language teachers an opportunity to gather, "talk shop," collect new ideas, and establish connections that will grow and continue to form a Personal Learning Network.
