Denise Ashlynd riveted K-3 students with a live reading of her audio book "Daisy & Josephine" by Melissa Gilbert. After her reading, Denise explained the process of how a book becomes an audio book and how she must prepare for it using vocal techniques and trying different voices and accents for the various characters.

Denise also included technical information about the recording studio she used and the director who guided her through the story. She invited three lucky students to come up and try their own hand at reading audio books aloud using her portable audio book box and microphone. The pages they read were played back which delighted both the readers and their classmates.
