2nd Graders Learn About the Process of Making a Broadway Musical
The creative team from the new musical Basura came to visit Dalton's 2nd graders to teach them about the process of creating a musical.
Basura is an inspiring story about music, community, and the environment that follows a group of young people in Paraguay who manufacture musical instruments from trash and go on to form an orchestra in their local community that empowers them to change their lives. Students got to hear from lead producer Michael Shulman, playwright Karen Zacarias, composer/lyricist Emily Estefan, choreographer Patricia Delgado, and dramaturg Ken Cerniglia. They learned more about the orchestra, made music together, and even learned some choreography from the show!
