Khalid and Toure Selected to NYSSWA All-State Basketball Teams
The New York Sportswriters Association named Dalton basketball seniors Noah Khalid and Astou Toure Class A First Team All-State.
Khalid averaged 29.7 points per game last season and scored a Dalton record 2,013 career points. The boys finished 22-4 and 13-1 in the Ivy League, capturing their first conference title since 2019. Khalid produced four 40-point games and set the Boys Varsity Basketball single-game record with 49 points versus Avenues in the Dalton Invitational. The senior graduates as a four-time First Team All-Ivy honoree. Khalid will play a postgraduate season at The Newman School in Boston, Massachusetts.

Toure tallied 17 points and 10 rebounds per game last season becoming the third Dalton player to average a double-double. The senior led Girls Varsity Basketball to its fifth straight Ivy League championship with an 11-1 conference record and 17-5 overall campaign. Toure contributed 18 points and 12 rebounds in a critical Warren Hines Night victory against Ethical Culture Fieldston school. The senior dominated the Dalton Invitational finals with 10 blocks and 18 rebounds versus Packer-Collegiate. Toure will continue her basketball career at Babson College.
Girls Varsity Basketball sophomore Joie Christie-Ward received a spot on the Sportswriters Association 12th Team.
