As the spring sports season comes to a close, we celebrate the incredible achievements of our spring teams.

Dalton Track and Field wrapped up the season with one of the best overall years in program history. The Girls team captured their fourth straight NYSAIS title, with the meet coming down to the 4x400 relay. Dalton held a slim lead over Nightingale in the overall standings, and the relay team of Nyla Blake-Soden ‘25, Fran Burnett ’25, Joie Christie-Ward ‘28 and Athena Drallios ‘27 had to win the race to secure the championship. After three tightly contested legs, Nyla took the baton and pulled away, sealing the win. Nyla also won the 400 hurdles and triple jump and placed third in the 100 hurdles. In the pole vault, Isabel Allen ‘27, Sabrina Marra ‘25, and Lily Dassori ‘28 finished 2–3–4. Other medalists included Maggie Bassey ‘26 (2nd in triple jump), Athena Drallios ‘27 (4th in steeplechase), and Sasha Weiner ‘25 (4th in shot put).

The Boys team earned their highest-ever finish in the Ivy League Championship by placing second, and finishing fourth overall at NYSAIS, their best result in two decades. Kannon Hunter ’26 won the high jump at Ivies and finished second at NYSAIS, also placing third in both the long jump and triple jump. Rohan Shah ‘25 swept the pole vault at both championships and placed in the top three in the 110 and 400 hurdles. The team excelled in field events, with Lucas Choe ‘25 winning the javelin, the first Dalton student to do so in 20 years, Alex Wlodarczak ‘25 placing second in discus, and Mathias Osback ‘26 taking third in shot put.

Dalton’s Varsity Baseball team had a historic run, winning the Ivy League Championship for the first time in program history. In a thrilling game on Saturday, May 10, the team trailed by one run heading into the bottom of the seventh and final inning before storming back for a 5–4 victory. It capped off a dominant season, finishing 12–4 overall and 11–3 in league play, including two wins over Fieldston, who finished second in the league. Dalton earned the number one seed in the NYSAIS Tournament and defeated Horace Mann 5–0 in the quarterfinals before falling just short to Long Island Lutheran, 5–4, in the semifinals.

The Varsity Softball team had a strong season, earning fourth in the Ivy League after a hard-fought win over Horace Mann. Their 6–6 league record included close games against the top three teams in the league, who also placed in the top three seeds of the state tournament. With a stellar out-of-league performance, Dalton finished with an 11–7 overall record and earned the fourth seed in the postseason tournament. The team beat Friends Seminary 17–1 in the opening round and Rye Country Day 13–4 in the quarterfinals before falling to top-seeded and eventual champion Poly Prep, 10–3, in the semifinals.

The Boys Varsity Lacrosse team had one of their best seasons in recent years. Playing a challenging schedule, Dalton finished 5–9 overall, with multiple wins over Horace Mann, Fieldston, and Trinity. They secured fourth place in the Ivy League and entered the NYSAIS Tournament as the sixth seed, where they fell in a competitive quarterfinal match to a strong Portledge team.

The Girls Varsity Lacrosse team finished 6–6 in Ivy League play and earned fourth place in the Ivy League. In one of their strongest performances of the season, Dalton fell just short to second-place Hackley, 7–6, in a hard-fought game. Despite their efforts, they narrowly missed qualifying for the NYSAIS Championship, as only the top three Ivy League teams advanced. After a tough opening-round loss to second-seeded Riverdale, the Boys Varsity Tennis Team bounced back, sweeping Fieldston in all five matches in the first round of the consolation bracket. They then fell 4–1 to Hackley in a set of highly competitive matches. The doubles team of Ollie Feder ‘25 and Campbell Langdon ’26  secured the number one seed in the NYSAIS Championship, winning their quarterfinal match with ease before falling to Horace Mann in the semifinals.

The Boys Volleyball team followed up their inaugural season with another impressive showing. After a slow start, they won nine straight games to close the season, finishing with a 12–5 overall record. The team notched wins over Poly Prep (3–0), Horace Mann (3–1), Trinity (3–0), and more, tying for second place in the Ivy League. As the sixth seed in the NYSAIS Tournament, Dalton swept Dwight 3–0 in the first round and upset third-seeded Calhoun in the quarterfinals before falling to UNIS in the semifinals.

Congratulations to all our spring athletes on a memorable season!
