Dalton Cross Country Shines with Victories at Ivy Meet
The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams both claimed victories at the Ivy Meet on Wednesday, October 8th.
Senior Gabe Ponichter won the boys’ race—marking the first time in nearly a decade that a Dalton boy has taken the Ivy League title. Sophomore Graydon Barz finished third, while freshman Elliot Higgins-Woo placed ninth.
On the girls’ side, freshman Malaika Toreki earned third place, cutting a full minute off her previous best time. Junior Olivia Cooney, senior Ava Van Dusen, and sophomore Lily Dassori finished 10th, 11th, and 13th, respectively, to help secure the team win.
