FP Library - Kindergarten Students and Their "Soft Friends"
Maria Alegre
The Kindergarten classes in the library are more packed than ever, now that "soft friends" like Peter Rabbit, Paddington and Winnie the Pooh have come to visit! Stuffed animals from beloved children's books have long resided on the high shelves to look after the children, however they have recently been brought down and into the arms of Kindergarten students. Having a soft friend with them often eases concerns of being in a busy space, while reluctant readers welcome having a familiar and silent friend with whom they can practice their reading aloud skills. Students are invited to read their books to their soft friend after checkout and FP librarians Maria Alegre and Trudy DiGiorgio welcome any parents after school who wish to read with their child and a "soft friend" too!
