Three Dalton middle school students competed in a battle of the champions at The Scripps Spelling Bee New York City-wide final competition on March 9 and 10, 2016. Addis Adam '23, a fifth grader, showed off her spelling prowess. Another fifth grader, Alana Taylor '23, placed 14th in a field of 74 contestants. Vithya Srikumar '21, a 7th grader, had the audience on the edge of their seats until the very end of the contest. She took a very impressive third place in this highly competitive field of 74 spellers from all five boroughs.
