Music Department Has a New Dalton Blue Harpsichord
The Music Department has aquired a new harpsichord, replacing an older and less suitable one that the school owned for several decades. I am delighted to tell you that it is Dalton Blue, and will get lots of use from students exploring the music of the 18th century and before.
Some lucky fifth graders and maintenance staff were treated to a brief demonstration and talk by Dale Munschy, the harpsichord restorer who refurbished the c.1971 Zuckerman instrument for us. A short informal recital on the instrument may take place before the end of the year to properly welcome the instrument to the school.
