Gratulatio! to the Dalton Students Who Participated in the National Latin Exam
On March 7, 2016, 101 Dalton Latin students, grades 6-12, took the National Latin Exam. The NLE, a multiple choice exam consisting of vocabulary, syntax, translating skills, as well as testing their knowledge of Roman geography, history, mythology, culture, and institutions.
Each year, over 130,000 Latin students worldwide take this exam. Of Dalton's 101 participants, 72 students received awards in this exam. Here is a break down of the results of Dalton's success:
Gold Summa Cum Laude award – 21 students Silver Maxima Cum Laude award - 31 students Magna Cum Laude – 12 students Cum laude – 6 students Certificate of Merit – 2 students
