First Program House 91 Celebrates Ally Week - 2016
The entire bevy of First Program students, faculty and staff crowded into House 91 on Friday, September 23, to learn the meaning of and share in some activities for Ally Week, celebrated nationally and at Dalton for the week of Monday, September 26-30. To kick off the event, Division Director Nora Elish read from the book, My Family, Your Family. Several faculty and staff described what it means to be a friend and ally to gay and lesbian people.
Everyone at the packed House 91 sang the meaningful Dalton favorite, "Love Makes a Family." Ms. Elish initiated the now traditional, round-robin, faculty/staff declaration of, "I am an ally," and Dance/Theater Specialist Justin led the students in the Ally Week Cheer. Finally, everyone stood to sing "The Dalton Song." Students will receive Ally Week round rainbow stickers to wear next week.
