Suehade Rodriguez, a representative from Homes for the Homeless, explained to third graders the importance of creating lasting solutions for families experiencing homelessness. She explained that Homes for the Homeless provides a broad range of programs, activities, and services to meet the needs of NYC shelter residents.
Sue’s visit gave context for a gradewide service learning project. Third graders are collecting gently used Halloween costumes to give to the organization for the children who live in the shelter. The children there will be having a Trick or Treat party and will now have costumes to wear to celebrate! We learned that HFH works to give kids a normal childhood and we are happy to do our part to help.
