Former Edinger House Students Present at Lewis Carroll Society of North America
7th grader Jacob Berg '22 and 5th graders Zachary Berg '24 and Katalin Mazansky '24 and 4th grade house advisor Monica Edinger presented "Alice and Her Intended Audience of Children Today" at the Lewis Carroll Society of North America's fall meeting at NYU on October 15.
Ms. Edinger began with a review of the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland unit, focusing in on such student experiences over the years as tea parties, poetry recitations, artwork, games, and book trailers. Next, after each described what he or she had particularly liked about the book and the unit, Jake read his "Chapter 5 1/2: The House of the Rabbits" and Katalin and Zach performed their section of last year's radio play, complete with sound effects. Afterward, the students ably fielded questions from the adult audience of Carroll collectors, academics, and enthusiasts from all over the country. They were the hit of the meeting!
