Dalton Debate Team Victorious at NYS Forensics League Grand Championship Tournament
The Dalton Debate team was victorious at the New York State Forensics League Grand Championship Tournament, which occurred from April 29 to April 30 at Hofstra University. The students who attended had previously qualified individually for the competition. In the Junior Varsity division, Ilana Cuello-Wolffe '19 and Gabriel Wong '20 won first place. Captains Julia Udell '17 and Julian Freiberg ’17 made it to the final round in Varsity Public Forum, coming in second in New York State. Grace Isaacman '18 and Sehan Choi ' 19 made it to semi-finals, and Jack Freilich '18 and Oliver Fisher '18 made it to quarter-finals.
Due to numerous victories, Dalton received a school award. The NYS Forensics League Grand Championship marked the team's 9th, and final, major tournament of the year. It was a terrific way to end Dalton’s successful season. The Dalton Debate Team looks forward to continuing its success in 2017-2018.
