Ellen Stein Welcomes Faculty and Staff Back to School

Head of School Ellen Stein warmly welcomed faculty and staff back to Dalton for the 2017-18 school year. She shared her vision and goals for the upcoming year and commended each teacher and faculty member who had reached milestone years of service at Dalton. In addition, Ellen and CFO Michael Hwang showed photos from the ambitious summer construction project at Big Dalton and thanked the School's maintenance staff for their herculean efforts in getting the building ready for occupancy.
Ellen outlined the School’s goals for the upcoming year:
  1. Build upon past efforts to achieve a shared sense of purpose as well as professional and personal balance among faculty, staff, and administration by enhancing resources and implementing relevant initiatives.

  2. Create a vision for transdisciplinary learning by defining the approach, identifying current examples at Dalton, and connecting this process to Parkhurst's philosophy and pedagogy.

  3. Gather and use qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions in ways that forward the school's mission and emerging strategic priorities.
