About 400 alumni and guests returned to Dalton last June for the annual Reunions and Alum Night
A festive spirit prevailed on the evening of June 4 at the 89th Street building when about 400 alumni and guests returned to Dalton for Reunions. During the Alum Night presentation in the Martin Theater, Alumni Council President Matt Guerreiro ’75 provided an overview of the many new alumni events held throughout the year and mentioned the more prominent role that the increasingly energetic Alumni Council is assuming at Dalton. In honor of Dalton’s 85th birthday, former theater teacher Anne MacKay ’45 elicited poignant, funny, and thoughtful reminiscences from alumni about their Dalton teachers and experiences. Head of School Ellen Stein ’65 offered her own school memories and introduced the charming short film “Go Forth Unafraid” made by parents Karen Goodman and Kirk Simon, which featured current students’ frank, and frequently amusing, assessments of the school song. As is increasingly becoming the norm, after Dalton’s official reunion ended, reunion groups reconvened at local watering holes, met again at classmates’ apartments over the weekend, or had picnics in Central Park to continue catching up.
