Through the collaboration between parents, faculty, students, and administration, the PA Diversity Committee plans, organizes, and implements division-wide programs and projects for the First Program, Middle School, and High School. The PA Diversity Committee approaches the issue of diversity from a school-wide community perspective and also has divisional representatives. The committee works with and through parents and faculty, students, administration, and staff to expand and support the diversity of the student body and the diversity of faculty.
The Diversity Committee considers the many dimensions of the culture of humankind including, for example, age and aging, ethnicity, gender, language, race, religion, and socio economics. The committee is dedicated to enriching the community by creating and promoting a more sensitive and inclusive social environment that welcomes all families warmly and fully. The members of the committee plan programs of open debate, cultural exchange, bias awareness, and anti-bias education. Included in these activities are panel discussions on diversity issues, anti-bias workshops, the annual Cultural Festival, and community forums on diversity and multiculturalism.
