Dalton Parent SEED, part of an international effort among schools, is dedicated to increasing our understanding of issues and concerns that relate to gender, age, race, class, and religion and how these shape our worldview and influence our children. Monthly SEED seminars are designed to put participants at the center of the process and include thought-provoking exercises, readings, videos, films, and candid discussions on topics of diversity and inequity. SEED gatherings are warm and enlightening. Meetings offer an opportunity to examine our own "life-texts" and personal "politics of location" in order to understand their implications in parenting and in growth of community at Dalton. Dalton Parent SEED seeks to build a community of adults actively helping each other to guide our children toward social responsibility, ethical behavior, and personal accountability.
