Codecademy Visits MS Students For a "Bit"

Dalton's Middle School Coding Club sat down with visitors from Codecademy to learn about the in's and out's of computer programming.
Over the course of two days, Middle School students met with Web Engineers from Codecademy, a technology startup dedicated to helping people improve their coding skill sets in various computer languages such as JavaScript, HTML, Ruby, Python, and more. In these interactive sessions, students took the opportunity to ask questions about Codecademy as well as what it's like to work in computer science professionally.

With questions ranging from "what was your favorite piece of code to write" to "what will the future look like", members of Codecademy used their own experiences to help Dalton students understand the power of coding and digital literacy, whether that be launching a website, developing self-driving cars, or creating artificial reality environments to interact with people around the world.

Dalton's MS Coding Club is comprised of Grade 5 and 6 students who have an interest in computer science and meet weekly with faculty supervisors to code together using Codecademy curriculum. At Dalton, we're proud to teach our student body the importance of computer programming in an increasingly digital world and would like to thank Codecademy for taking the time to share their passion with us!
