Dalton Tiger Report - This Week In Athletics (12-2)

Dalton Basketball Invitational Tournament
Both Boys Basketball and Girls Basketball teams started the season off strong by each winning the opening season invitational tournament from Thursday, November 29 to Saturday, December 1. Dalton kicks off their season as the host team, joining Grace Church, Packer Collegiate, and Trevor Day.

The Boys' opened with a 72-46 victory over Grace Church before defeating Packer in the championship game 64-46. The team took a bit of time getting acclimated to their first games of the year, but through strong ball-movement and great perimeter defense, the team won the opening invitational. Senior captain Boaz Shaham said that the win was a "team effort, everyone played well." The Girls' started off the season with a commanding 62-19 win over Grace Church. In the championship game. Dalton held a tough Packer team to just 10 first-half points with tremendous defensive intensity before prevailing 51-31.

Wrestling
The Dalton Wrestling Team competed in the 2018 Lexington Holiday Invitational on Saturday. The team ended the day with three 1st place finishers; Jake Intrater, Jamaal Spence and Niko Ramirez. Dalton also had two third-place finishers, Jeremy Yarden and Aidan Shepardson. Jake Intrater was voted by the coaches at the tournament as the Most Outstanding Wrestler.

Swimming
Dalton Swimming had their first meet this past week at the Ivy Relay Carnival at Lehman College on Wednesday, November 28. The meet was highlighted by standout swims by Nadim Abboud in the 50-meter fly, Lucas Zhang in the 50-meter breast, and Alec Chen in the 50-meter backstroke. These swimmers carried Dalton to their two wins in the 8x50 medley and the 4x50 backstroke.
