Dalton Parents, Students, and Alumni Deliver Meals to Homebound Seniors as Part of the Meals on Heels Program.

More than 20 volunteers, including Dalton parents, students, and alumni, gathered together on Saturday, November 10 at the Carter Burden Center for the Aging to deliver meals to the elderly in support of our Meals on Heels Community Service program. This was another great opportunity for us to come together and volunteer with our families as a Dalton community, and to have Dalton Alumni and their families volunteer alongside current Dalton families and students. The seniors were happy for the visits and their meals but especially touched to receive the cards created by the children.

With Thanksgiving behind us, and the remainder of the holiday season fast approaching, there are still volunteer opportunities to help combat the loneliness that some isolated elderly New Yorkers may face.

There are still a few remaining volunteer dates that you can sign up for the Meals on Heels program this school year: December 15, January 12, March 9 and April 13.  Sign up here for one or more dates or check the Sunday Blast for upcoming opportunities.
