Dalton parents enjoyed an evening with Narrative 4 hosts swapping personal life stories with partners who then shared the stories they heard from each other's perspective to the entire room.
After the night’s Facilitators Dr. Bonnie Moses and Felice Belle provided a brief introduction, the guests broke up into pairs and began telling personal stories from childhood memories and family dynamics to the everyday struggle. A powerful transformation occurred once the listeners retold the stories to the entire group. The group shared a variety of emotions and by the end of the evening, felt more connected with each other.
“Hearing your own story come from another person’s mouth is a sort of out of body experience that helps you see how others portray you. It has definitely shifted how I will communicate moving forward,” one guest mentioned.
“When I heard you tell my story it almost brought tears to my eyes; it helped me figure out how I should change my approach to the situation.” said another guest.
Thanks to the Community Life and Diversity Committee for arranging this thought provoking evening.
