Fifth Grade Dancers Inspired by Spike Jonze Music Video
Students in Blake Pearson’s 5th grade dance class worked on a dance composition assignment where they built a simple piece of choreography based on their shared interests and abilities.
While this dance is usually performed live, this past spring the project was shared via Zoom for the first time. The students viewed and responded to the Spike Jonze music video, featuring Christopher Walken, for the band Fat Boy Slim’s song, “Weapon of Choice.” Our goal was to create something fun and entertaining that would make our audience smile.
We hope you enjoy watching our dance called “Walk Without Rhythm,” and we hope it makes you smile!
