PA Thanks Faculty & Staff With Holiday Gifts

We wish to share some of the beautiful words and sentiments expressed by faculty and staff for their annual holiday appreciation gifts. Thank you to each family who generously contributed to the annual gift collection, which allowed the PA to present both holiday and year-end gifts to the amazing people who teach, supervise, guide, advise, support, mentor, enlighten, push, encourage, delight, organize, and cultivate our own most precious gifts.
These thanks truly belong to YOU, the families, as it was your generosity and commitment that allowed us to show appreciation to those in our community who work tirelessly for our children. The faculty and staff received a monetary gift while the administrative team was given a winter hat (see picture). Our learning supervisors, who ensured our children’s in-person safety, were given something to keep them healthy through the holidays as well—Dalton logoed phone sanitizers.

We were touched to receive thanks from each division and myriad departments. Many teachers, including those in the Art department across all three divisions, expressed that the gift was a lovely surprise and a bright spot in difficult times. Not to be outdone, those in our HS Science department detailed that the hats would be put to good use, while one of our health educators suggested that their gift lit the path for a renewed sense of community. One recipient in Admissions indicated excitement at being able to wear the new gear for outdoor dining!  Perhaps most poignantly of all though, those in Library Services and the English Department commented on their appreciation that this tradition continues, even in “unprecedented times” – a phrase that does wonders, to sum up our current situation.

Parent funds generously supported much of the faculty & staff gifts and the PA separately underwrote the House Advisor gifts that House Parents tirelessly spent time devising and putting together (and as any past House Parent will confirm, is not as easy as it looks).  We thank those parents who thanked our teachers.
