The Tigers fielded three Varsity teams. From the class of ’24, the team of Zach Berg and Jasper Karlson partnered, as well as Anya Levin and Mirabelle Zhang. They were joined by the team of Lila Sternoff ’22 and Leo Yu ’23. In a highly competitive field, the team picked up six victories.  
 
Durham also hosted an invitation-only “challenge tournament” assembling 12 of the nation’s top teams in a unique elimination format. Two of the captains Rebecca Solomon ’21 and JJ Yu ’21 once again dominated and were crowned champions. JJ and Rebecca won 19 out of 23 ballots across seven rounds. As befitting the unusual nature of the competition, the seniors received a cash award and a 26-inch-long sword as prizes!
 
The team covered two tournaments at the end of January. The Tigers fielded 10 teams at the Columbia University Invitational.   
 
There, Etien Balanzá ’24 and Armaan Gill ’24, Lucas Chen ’24 and Annabelle Eng ’23, Julia Miyasaka ’24 and Jai Kapoor ’24, Sarah Thomas ’24 and Quinton Gallant ’24 competed in JV Public Forum and accumulated seven victories. In Varsity Public Forum, Dalton was represented by Zach Berg ’24 and Jasper Karlson ’24, Leela Mukherjee-Sze ’23 and Tenzin Sangmo ’23, Anya Levin ’24 and Annika Jha ’24, Arjun Mehra '22 and Eli Diker ’23, Brett Hammerman ’21 and Lucas Zhang ’21, Lucas Ribadeneira ’23 and Sam Schollenberger ’23. The teams picked up 15 victories in total, with Zach and Jasper progressing to the round of 32.

Meanwhile, JJ, Leo, Lila, and Rebecca competed at Emory University’s Barkley Forum. Leo and Lila broke to the elimination rounds with a strong 4-2 performance. Rebecca and JJ prevailed in 9 consecutive rounds, finishing second among 142 teams and capturing the "Reserve Key" for the entire Varsity Division.

Since the start of the year, JJ and Rebecca have won a remarkable 56 out of 68 ballots. The co-captains, who secured three bids to the prestigious Tournament of Champions, have set a new Dalton record by winning three tournaments in a single year.
