A Virtual Ecuadorian Musical Journey
Music connects us, even from several thousand miles away.
Thanks to a collaboration through Glenn Makos, Dalton Brass Instructor, and Jorge Pachacama, Director of the Ecuador Brass Band based in Quito, student instrumentalists were treated to a Zoom master class featuring members of the brass band.
The two-part session took place on Wednesday, March 31, where attendees discussed the strategies and physical challenges of playing brass instruments online, followed by a session on motivic development in jazz improvisation.
