Seventh grade Spanish classes prepared Colombian-style arepas at 89th Street kitchen this week to culminate their unit on travel in Colombia.
Middle School Interdisciplinary Coordinator Cory Cowles led the activity which highlighted the students’ study of the book, Me perdí en Medellín. In this story, a young tourist gets lost in Colombia and gets to know the customs and people of the country during his adventures. Much like the character in the book, this was the first time many students had arepas and guava juice. The arepas came out deliciosas!
