The magazine’s contest highlights Cuban poet Jose Marti’s poem “I Grow a White Rose” and asks students to answer the questions, “What does the white rose represent?” and “Who will the speaker give it to?” 

As a contest winner, Anthony received a certificate, a letter of congratulations, and an eGift Card to the Scholastic Store. Scope Editor Kristin Lewis wrote to Anthony in the congratulatory letter, "Your short response analyzing what the white rose represents was very insightful."
