Applying their knowledge of the art conventions in ancient Egypt and Egyptian religion and practices, students analyzed tomb paintings and artifacts to answer the question, "What did ancient Egyptians believe they needed in the afterlife?"

Students identified and sketched many of the troves of items ancient Egyptians hoped to find in the afterlife — from family members and riches and tables loaded with food to hunting for entertainment. One man even hoped to continue working as a merchant in the afterlife!
