Students Dazzle at Second-Annual Studio Works Dance Performance

HS students from the classes Dance Tech, Contemporary Dance and Improvisation (CDI), Intermediate Dance Technique (IDT), and Hip-Hop presented student-led dances from various choreographic styles and movement genres at Studio Works on February 2.
Studio Works, which began last year, provides students with a performance opportunity in an informal and community-driven atmosphere. Students are encouraged to present their own works in progress while demonstrating a glimpse of what takes place within many of our Dalton Dance classrooms.

Dance Tech kicked off the show with a 1920s tap routine to the music of Duke Ellington, followed by CDI's Variations Assignment and IDT's presentation of Lester Horton-based choreography.

Dalton Dance Teacher Winston "Dynamite" Brown's hip-hop class concluded the exciting show with a bang, creating a party atmosphere by performing a montage of upbeat dances.

Finally, Associate Director of College Counseling Sai Somboon rallied attendees to join in the "Electric Slide" before everyone danced the "Wobble!"

Congratulations to everyone that participated!
