Three Dalton School spelling bee finalists competed in the Scholar Skills NYC Spelling Bee. Three 6th graders: Isabel “Izzy” Canada, Aaron Kotchen, and Sidharth “Sid” Singh, competed against 38 champions from public and independent schools throughout the five boroughs.
Challenged with words like deliquese, merganser, sabotage, ennui, and azulajo, the students persevered. In the end, Izzy made it through 18 challenging rounds and took second place in the day’s events. We are so proud of the students who rose to the top ranks of spelling bee champions in New York City!
