Mini-Toiletries Drive: Middle School Community Service Committee Supports Urban Pathways

Linda Urmacher
The Middle School Community Service Committee has organized the annual mini-toiletries drive in support of Urban Pathways Monday, April 3rd thru Friday, April 21st. The students hope to exceed last year's collection of over 200 pounds of personal care products.
Urban Pathways, a community-based outreach agency, is dedicated to supporting the homeless by providing basic necessities which may be common place to many, but are considered precious commodities to the homeless. Many Dalton families and friends travel during spring break and upon returning to New York, find their bags and backpacks filled with mini-bottles and tubes of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, soaps and other wonderful products. These toiletries may take up cabinet space and serve as reminders of spring adventures, but to the homeless, they are special treasures. Urban Pathways serves the community as a repository in support of those in need. To this end, mini-toiletries will be collected during April and will be donated to Urban Pathways. Please consider contributing your mini-toiletries to this important cause. Collection boxes will be located in the Dalton Lobby at E. 89th Street and in the 8th Floor Middle School Office. If you have questions regarding this community project, please contact Virginia Ford, Faculty Advisor, at (212) 423-5334.
