Based on the feedback from our Dalton judges, the two groups improved their pitches and prepared for the final round of the competition. On Day 2, these finalists had the opportunity to pitch their businesses to an incredibly accomplished panel of investors and entrepreneurs (Vinit Bharara, Samantha Chen, and Ushma Pandya).

The first finalist group, entitled WeCommit, pitched a website that connected high school athletic recruits to college programs that were the “right fit” for them, using a variety of statistics, student testimonials, game footage, and other data points. This group was composed of four 11th graders: Alex Karen ‘25, Maxwell Massiah ‘25, Luca Slick ‘25, and Mouhamed Toure ‘25. 

The second finalist group, entitled Mnemo, pitched a company that strives to help dementia patients remember and connect with loved ones through the use of an app and supporting tablet. By employing their three r’s – Reiterate, Response and Remind – into their products, Mnemo helps patients in their mission to remember. This group was composed of four 11th graders as well: Lucas Choe ‘25, Miles Gumbs ‘25, Theo Chan ‘25 and Ollie Fender ‘25. 

Eventually, after much deliberation, the judges selected Mnemo as the winner of the 2024 Dalton Finance Club entrepreneurship competition.
