7th Grade Spanish Takes on Tapas in the Teaching Kitchen
7th Grade Spanish students paid a visit to the Teaching Kitchen with Profe Dieken, where Chef Jaz guided them in preparing Spanish tapas to complement their travel study of Spain, focusing on Granada and Barcelona.
Students prepared gazpacho, pan tumaca, and alubias—three complementary types of tapas that use some of the main ingredients in Spanish cooking: olive oil, garlic, tomatoes, salt, and beans.Students had a great time preparing all three tapas at once! They experimented with tasting new flavors and dishes and were able to describe why they liked or didn’t like them in Spanish. Click here to view the photo gallery.
