Advocacy, Community, and Environmental Justice Through Graphic Novels
Eddie Ahn, an environmental justice attorney, a non-profit leader based in San Francisco, and author of the graphic novel "Advocate," visited 89th Street prior to spring break.
Hosted by our Sustainability Coordinator, Dr. Lindo, Mr. Ahn met with all 6th and 7th graders, 9-12th graders, and the senior writing workshop taught by Mr. Hood. Mr. Ahn also led a workshop on graphic design attended by over 120 students and faculty, where he discussed his work and the overarching theme of Community and the Fight for Environmental Justice. As a special treat, Korean food was provided!
It was a powerful opportunity to engage with an inspiring advocate and explore how storytelling and activism intersect.
