6th Grader Takes Charge in the Fight Against Food Insecurity in NYC
Nate Henry ‘31 recently presented at the Middle School assembly on his work with Grassroots Grocery, a nonprofit driven by neighbors helping neighbors.
The organization is committed to ensuring dignified food access by getting fresh food to those who need it most across the Bronx, Harlem, and the Upper East Side.
During his talk, Nate emphasized the importance of community service — especially for young students — and shared what his work looks like on the ground. He also spoke about why addressing food insecurity is personally meaningful to him.
Outside of Dalton, the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation recognized Nate’s work to end hunger and named him a 2025 Stephen J. Brady Scholar. Congratulations, Nate!
