Latin Language Students Complete National Latin Exam and Medusa Mythology Exam
In March, 100 Latin students took the National Latin Exam, a multiple-choice test that assesses the grammar, vocabulary, mythology, and history skills of the Latin students.
19 students took the Beginning Latin Exam, 18 the Intermediate Latin Exam, 20 the Intermediate Latin Reading Comprehension Exam, 29 the Advanced Prose Exam, and 14 the Advanced Latin Poetry Exam. From these exams, 28 students received Gold Summa Cum Laude, with one perfect score, 20 Silver Maxima Cum Laude, 15 Magna Cum Laude, and 10 Cum Laude.
In early April, High School students took the Medusa Mythology Exam. Seven students took the exam and five placed. Simon Smith ‘26 and Cole Stopnik ‘27 received Cum Laude, Oliver Katz and Campbell Langdon received Magna Cum Laude, and Jasmine Chen received a Gold Summa Cum Laude.
